Ulster Product Heads to Seattle, Busby Becomes Seawolf
Seattle, Wash. — The Seattle Seawolves have signed former Ulster utility back, David Busby.
The Ireland native’s track to professional rugby started in 2011 when he joined Ulster’s U20 Academy side and won the Interprovincial Championship in 2012
with them. He then moved to the Brothers rugby club in Australia for a year before returning to Ireland to play for the Irish U20’s in the age-grade’s
Six Nations while attending Queens University. Busby progressed to Ulster’s senior side in 2015, where his first Senior Ulster appearance, he scored
an off-the-bench try to secure Ulster’s 40-17 win against Italian side, Zebre. While with Ulster, Busby was also selected to the Ireland sevens team,
competing in a handful of tournaments between 2016-17, including the Exeter Super Sevens Series. In his most recent appearance for Ulster, he helped
them in their 14-13 win over Leinster. With the ability to set others up or back himself with ball in hand, the Busby’s dynamic standard will fit right
in with the Seawolves backline.
“I’m really excited to be joining such a successful club with top quality players,” said Busby. “Really looking forward to linking up with the squad and
working hard to bring another championship back to Seattle”.
