Mike McLaury, Head Athletic Trainer

Mike McLaury is going into his third season as Head Athletic Trainer for the Seattle Seawolves.  Mike was born and raised in Lake Stevens, WA, and graduated from Lake Stevens High School. Mike was a three-sport letterman in Football, Wrestling, and Baseball at Lake Stevens High School. He went on to play football for Pacific University starting at outside linebacker as a true freshman. Mike transferred to Western Washington University as a Junior. Mike became team captain his senior year and named All-Conference defensive end his Junior and Senior year. He continued his football career signing a professional contract as a defensive end in Austria, playing for the Graz Giants of the European American Football League. Mike proved to be an asset on the offensive side of the ball taking snaps at fullback. McLaury was selected for the All-European team as Defensive End. He was a five-time sack leader for the Graz Giants as well as earning team MVP and Most Touchdowns in 2000. For six years, McLaury not only played but worked as an assistant coach, the team Head Athletic Trainer, and the Strength and Conditioning Coach. Mike was inducted into the Lake Stevens High School Hall of Fame in 2011.  As the owner and President of Sports Physical Therapy and Performance Centers, McLaury brings extensive experience in the field of rehabilitation, working for over 20 years in sports physical therapy. Mike earned his Bachelor’s in Exercise and Sports Science from Western Washington University. He earned his Associates in Physical Therapist Assistance program at Whatcom CC. He completed the Emergency Medical Technician at Bellingham Tech. Mike is a Certified and Licensed Athletic Trainer, as well as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He has completed his Certification in Applied Functional Science, Certification in 3DMAPS (3D Movement Analysis & Performance System) is the most innovative way to effectively analyze and enhance the entire body in an efficient, revealing, and evidence-based manner. He has completed a yearlong Fellowship in Applied Functional Science one out of approximately 800 people in the world have completed this honor from the prestigious Gray Institute. He has a passion for performance and functional based physical therapy to get you back to sport, play, or work free of pain and functioning at the highest potential.
