Tony Healy Named the Head Coach of Seattle Seawolves
Seattle, October 2, 2017: Seattle Seawolves Rugby is excited to announce Tony Healy as the head coach. Healy led British Columbia Bears to 2017 Canadian
Rugby Championship title in 2017. In the process, Healy’s team also completed an unprecedented unbeaten campaign in the tournament, their first clean sweep since 2009. “Healy is not just a coach, but is also a superb leader, mentor, and competitor. His brand of Rugby is something that resonates with our vision and we are certain that our team is in fantastic hands” said Karl Harrison, investor and CEO of Northstar Rugby. “We could not be more excited to have Tony on board. His rugby expertise and proven leadership skills are a huge asset to the team and we cannot wait to see him in action,” adds Adrian Balfour, co-founder of the Seattle Seawolves. The 48-year-old from Victoria, BC also looks forward to kickstarting the inaugural season. “I am humbled and honored to join the Seattle Seawolves and take up the challenge to lead this group of talented players in the inaugural MLR season. We are excited about the opportunity to build a formidable team that can compete on all levels by playing an exciting and inspiring brand of rugby” said the new coach, at the time of the announcement.
We are proud to welcome coach Healy to the Seawolves family.
