Seawolves Ready for Next Generation, Announce U16 & U18 Boys and Girls Talent Identification Opportunities
MARCH 24, 2022 (TUKWILA, WASHINGTON) – The Seattle Seawolves have announced their first U16 and U18 talent identification events. As part of the Seawolves Rugby PNW Pathway, the Seawolves U16 and U18 representative sides will provide an opportunity to establish professional principles and best practices to young athletes eager to progress and grow, all while having fun.
“As the sole professional Club in the Pacific Northwest, we have a responsibility to not only grow the game but find talent that will become the next wave of high-level players and future Seawolves,” said Seawolves general manager, Pate Tuilevuka. “If you’re a local boy or girl, it’s a dream come true to grow up here and represent the team you root for — and these camps are a step towards that.”
“Rugby prides itself in its’ inclusivity and our Club is no exception,” said Seawolves director of youth & community, Lauren Barber. “We’re beginning the foundation of our programming with both boys and girls. Creating more opportunities for that next level of play under the Seawolves banner gives players something special to aspire to, especially the girls, as we introduce the community game to a professional environment.”
Kicking off April 10, players will have two opportunities to attend a Talent ID event and enter the 2022 Seawolves representative player pool for summer competition selection(s). Male and female athletes ages 14-18 from Washington, Oregon, and Idaho, as well as British Columbia, that are eager to enter the ‘Train to Train’ tier of the Seawolves’ Pathway are encouraged to attend at minimum one of the two events.
