San Diego Legion wins over Seawolves 23-20 in Week 8
TUKWILA WA (April 8, 2023) The Seattle Seawolves (6-1) lost to San Diego (6-1) in Week 8. The stakes and tensions were high early in the match, with strong defense on both sides and San Diego earning a yellow card for a tackle without the ball on Duncan Matthews.
At 17min a penalty conversion by Jordan Chait put Seawolves points on the scoreboard 3-3, but after another penalty kick by San Diego followed by a try brought the halftime score to 11-3.
In the second half, Charles Elton made it under the posts for a try and automatic conversion points, and Jordan Chait scored a try and his own conversion kick, putting the Seawolves in the lead 11-17. The next series of gains kept the score within three points with Jordan Chait scoring another penalty kick. San Diego had two more tries and one conversion kick in the second half. Final Score 23-20.
San Diego now leads the Western Conference with 30 ranked points over Seattle’s 27, but both teams are still very much in contention for a playoff run halfway through the season. Seattle travels next to Salt Lake City to battle the Utah Warriors on April 15th.
