The Seattle Seawolves were on the road in Salt Lake City, Utah as they took on the Warriors for the first time in the 2019 season. The Seawolves signed
two new players in the last week and used their skills for a big win on the road.

 

KICK OFF:

Utah kicked things off to a start on a windy Friday evening. A quick penalty against the Warriors at the breakdown gave Brock Staller a penalty kick to
take to the board first, 3-0 Seattle. The Warriors charged back down the pitch, Brad Tucker managed to strip the ball but on the next phase the Warriors
received a penalty in their favor and opted to kick. The kick was good, and the game tied up 3-3. A solid run by new Seawolf Djustice Sears-Duru set
up space out wide for a series of phases to get to Staller for a try. Staller’s kick was good again, to bring the Seawolves to 10-3. The Warriors came
back when a crack in the Seawall defense gave the Warriors a clear field for a try. The kick cleared the posts and the score rose to 10-10 at the first
water break.

 

20 MINUTES:

A long run by Utah and a string of attacking phases down the pitch left the Seawall scrambling just outside of their own try zone. A forward attack saw
the Warriors over the try line, 10-17 Utah. The Seawolves came back to perform with a long run of their own and a big push across the try line, seeing
Tucker power through the defense for a try. Staller converted in the high winds again, 17-17. The Warriors responded with another quick try, but the
conversion was no good, 17-22 Utah at the half.

 

40 MINUTES:

To start the second half, Warriors line break resulted in a try for Utah. The kick was good and raised the score 17-29. The Seawolves forwards responded
as Tucker spotted yet another gap. The lock scored his second try of the night and the kick was good, 24-29. The Seawolves continued their momentum
as they won a line out and set up space out wide. Tucker had a massive break and set up Sequoyah Burke-Combs who dodged the last two Warriors in his
way for a try. Staller with another conversion brought the Seawolves into the lead, 31-29. Suniula set up Iosefa for a big run, and a couple of Warrior
penalties gave the Seawolves a clear shot at another try. Stephan Coetzee spun off a maul for five points, but the kick was no good as the Seawolves
extended the lead to 36-29 Seattle.

 

60 MINUTES:

The Seawolves were heavy on the attack once again, and another Warriors penalty gave Roland Suniula a chance to crash into the gain line. Seawolves kept
the possession and Riekert Hattingh dove in for a try. Staller’s kick was good, 43-29 Seattle. The Warriors seemed ready to charge back and managed
to dot down a try at the base of the post pad. Kick was good and the Warriors brought the score to 43-36. Another Warriors long run looked like they
would have a shot at tying it up, but a knock on put the ball into the hands of Mat Turner who took it 85 meters for a try. 48-36 Seattle to end the
game.

 

FINAL SCORE:

Seawolves beat the Utah Warriors 48-36.
