Seattle Seawolves Partner with the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games
Seattle, November 30, 2017: The Seattle Seawolves are proud to announce a new partnership with the 2018
Special Olympics USA Games. The 2018 Special Olympics USA Games will be held in Seattle, WA
from July 1-6, 2018.
As a partner of the 2018 USA Games, the Seawolves have committed their support, engagement and influence in the community, to raise awareness about the
USA Games and the abilities of the athletes from across the country who will compete.
In addition, Seawolves Fly-Half Shalom Suniula will serve as a 2018 USA Games Ambassador and help amplify the Special Olympics message of diversity, unity
and inclusion.
Seattle Seawolves Co-Founder Shane Skinner has been involved with Special Olympics
for the past 25 years and is looking forward to the team’s involvement. “Rugby, the Seattle Seawolves, and the Special Olympics USA Games all value
the spirit of inclusion, camaraderie, and teamwork. I’ve developed a deep appreciation for Special Olympics through my time as a coach and volunteer,
and we can’t wait to get the team involved at the USA Games,” said Skinner.
The 2018 Special Olympics USA Games will be home to competition for more than 3,000 athletes across 14 sports in venues across the Puget Sound. The event
will field 10,000 volunteers, plus tens of thousands of spectators for what will be one of the largest sporting events in Seattle history.

50 states and the District of Columbia, along with the support of tens of thousands of volunteers and spectators, will compete in 14 Olympic-type team
and individual sports. The 2018 Special Olympics USA Games will celebrate the Special Olympics movement by promoting the ideals of acceptance and inclusion
through sport and by showcasing the abilities of people with intellectual disabilities. The 2018 USA Games will also highlight Special Olympics’ work
