Seattle Seawolves and Valley Shine Distillery Serve Virginia Mason Nurses on National Nurse Day
Tukwila, Washington — From the front row to the frontline, members of the Seattle Seawolves team travelled up to Mt. Vernon, Washington on National Nurses Day to pack up 250 locally sourced meals and hand sanitizer at Valley Shine Distillery for the in-patient nurses on duty at Virginia Mason.
With everything made in-house at the team’s official distillery partner, funds raised from the Seawolves’ #ChampionCOVID jersey auction in April were used to purchase the meals and sanitizers from Valley Shine. “Valley Shine Distillery was happy to welcome the Seattle Seawolves to our facility,” said Ben Lazowski, Valley Shine Distillery owner. “We work hard to support our communities and take pride in sharing this idea with the Seawolves.”
After loading up and heading to Virginia Mason’s main campus in downtown Seattle, the team was greeted by Virginia Mason staff with a ‘Thank You’ banner and excitement. “This generous donation was much appreciated by all our inpatient nurses and the timing couldn’t have been better,” said Marilyn Nemerever, RN, senior director, Acute Care Services. “Having these delicious, complimentary lunches delivered on this special recognition day definitely helped lift our collective spirits and help keep us fueled during this challenging time.”
“Whether it’s midseason season or mid-pandemic, Virginia Mason provides exceptional care to all they serve,” said Shane Skinner, Seattle Seawolves owner
and president. “It’s the least we could do during this time where our frontline workers are going above and beyond for our communities.”
For our fans up north, you can buy local and visit Valley Shine Distillery for takeout food, drink, bottle, and hand sanitizer sales at their Mt. Vernon
location Tuesday through Sunday from 12:00 to 8:00 pm.
