Seattle Saracen Dion Crowder signs with the Seattle Seawolves
Seattle, December 12, 2017: The Seattle Seawolves are excited to announce the signing of Seattle
Saracen and former Purdue Boilermaker, Dion Crowder. “Dion’s speed and power will be additional assets in the Seawolves already highly-competitive
back line.” said Head Coach Tony Healy. “We
are looking forward to seeing Dion light up the big stage with the Seawolves.”
Growing up in Chicago Heights, Illinois, Crowder was a wrestler throughout his high school athletic career. After competing with Purdue wrestling for 2
years, he found rugby as a junior and instantly fell in love with the sport. Following his 2016 graduation, Crowder moved to Seattle and quickly grew
his skills through the Atavus Academy and became a valuable member of the Seattle Saracens. He
competed with the Washington Athletic Club at the 2017 Club 7s National Championship and most recently played alongside Team Fiji as the Viti Barbarians
at the 2017 RugbyTown 7s tournament in Glendale, Colorado, scoring a handful of tries on the way to tournament victory.
Crowder is grateful to continue his journey in rugby, saying, “I’m excited to join on and learn from the best in the nation, and would like to give
a big thanks to the coaching staff for giving me the opportunity to grow the sport I love.”
We are proud to welcome Dion Crowder to the Seattle Seawolves.
