The Seattle Seawolves second match up was on the road against San Diego Legion. The Seawolves had beat San Diego their last two matchups and were the clear,
favored winners. But after a tough fought battle San Diego legion managed to pull off the victory.

 

KICK OFF:

The Seawolves began the kick off in the rain to get the game going. For the first part of the game, Legion kept strong possession of the ball, but the
rain forced numerous handling errors from both sides.

 

20 MINUTES:

San Diego laid the pressure on thick, leading to Phil Mack receiving a yellow card for playing the ball on the ground within the five meters. Mack was
removed from the game for ten minutes and in the next play, a Legion scrum on the try line led to the referee awarding a penalty try to San Diego after
a Seattle infringement in the scrum. Legion led, 7-0 at the 27th minute. The Seawolves thought they’d flipped the momentum with a penalty kick for
three points, but immediately following the score San Diego went for a long run and an impressive kick to extend the lead to 14-3 Legion going into
the half.

 

40 MINUTES:

The Seawall was tested again right out off the kick off, but another penalty called against the Seawolves led to a penalty kick for the Legion. The score
was brought to 17-3 San Diego with 30 minutes to go. A momentum shift led to Toluta’u attempting to score a try, but it was ultimately called back.
Score remained 17-3 San Diego.

 

60 MINUTES:

Riekert Hattingh took his opportunity as he kicked a loose ball up field and slid his way onto the ball at San Diego’s five meter. Two Legion penalties
eventually gave the Seawolves the opportunity to take the ball out wide, and a switch play from the backs brought William Rasileka in for a try under
the posts. Brock Staller’s kick was good and the Seawolves closed in on San Diego’s lead, 17-10. A quick Legion penalty allowed Staller another kick
and he earned three points for the Seawolves. 17-13 San Diego.

 

80 MINUTES:

The Seawolves dug deep for the final plays of the game, but in the end they were unable to add more points to the board. San Diego won the game 17-13.

 

NEXT JOB:

The Seawolves continue their hunt on the road Sunday, February 10 at 1:00pm at NOLA Gold. The next home match is Sunday, February 17 at 5:00 pm against
the Toronto Arrows at Starfire Stadium in Tukwila.
