Harvard Prop Prentice Activated from Extended Roster
TUKWILA, WASHINGTON (March 27, 2021) – The Seattle Seawolves are calling up Harvard Prop and Eastside Lions alumni Gavin Prentice from the extended roster.
A local player from Seattle, Prentice started his rugby career in elementary school with Rugby Washington club, the Eastside Lions. Playing both rugby
and football in high school, Prentice chose the rugby path after success with the Lions and USA Rugby High School All-American camp selections. State
representation with the Washington Loggers allowed Prentice to compete and showcase his skills throughout his high school career. After committing
to Harvard, the oldest rugby club in America, Prentice continued his development by spending two months in New Zealand with the Crusaders Rugby Academy
in the summer of 2018. Prentice has trained with the Seawolves intermittently since 2019 when home on breaks. A unique year with remote learning for
most universities, Prentice has been training with the team consistently in 2021.
“During a remote school year with limited athletics on campus, it’s great to see Gavin continue to train and develop in the Seawolves’ camp,” said Harvard Men’s Rugby head coach, Mike Diamantopoulos. “We can’t wait for him to bring his MLR experience back to Harvard in 2022.”
A familiar face to the team and its system, the young prop will provide front row coverage for Seattle. “I’m excited to be part of the team and push for
another Seawolves championship”, said Prentice.
The Seattle Seawolves travel to Los Angeles this weekend to face MLR’s newest franchise, the Giltinis, who currently sit atop of the West Conference standings. Kick off at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum will be at 5:30 PM PT on Sunday, March 28. Viewers inside the United States can tune in live on ROOT SPORTS and
