Colorado State University Graduate, Seattle Saracens’ Mike Garrity Signs with the Seattle Seawolves
Garrity comes to the Seawolves with well over 10 years of experience playing rugby
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Feb. 1, 2018
SEATTLE – The Seattle Seawolves have announced the signing of Seattle Saracen
and Colorado State University graduate, Mike Garrity. “Mike is a strong guy and loves to work hard,” said Head Coach Tony Healy. “His work ethic, speed,
and power will all be put to the test as part of our back line.”
Born in Centennial, Colorado, Garrity started playing rugby as a freshman at Regis Jesuit High School in 2003. After playing all four years of his high
school, Garrity played his full collegiate career with Colorado State University from 2007 to 2011. Post-graduation, he competed with the Denver Barbarians
RFC from 2011 to 2014 before landing with the Seattle Saracens in 2015. He earned his first cap with the Eagles in 2016 when he was selected to play
in the inaugural Americas Rugby Championship alongside fellow Seawolves Olive Kilifi and Aladdin Schirmer and has continued to improve with the Saracens
since making Seattle his home.
“The opportunity to play for the Seawolves and represent Seattle through this sport is a dream come true for me, I have always desired to play rugby for
the city I love,” said Garrity. “To play rugby at the standard that the Seawolves are aspiring towards gets me very excited. The season ahead will
be an awesome step towards cementing rugby as a pillar of sport and community, not only among the Pacific Northwest but across the country as well.
Go Seawolves!”
The Seattle Seawolves inaugural season kicks off on April 22 against the San Diego Legion at Starfire Stadium in Tukwila. Tickets are available now by
