Ian Watson, Assistant Coach

Ian Watson joins the Seattle Seawolves as Assistant Coach, bringing over 20 years of professional rugby league experience as both a player and coach. Hailing from Salford, Greater Manchester, Watson enjoyed a decorated playing career, including record caps for Wales and stints with Salford Reds and Leigh Centurions. As a coach, he led the Salford Red Devils to the 2019 Super League Grand Final and the 2020 Challenge Cup Final, and further elevated the Huddersfield Giants in the Super League.

Now making his debut in Major League Rugby, Watson will focus on the Seawolves’ backs and team defense, infusing his tactical expertise and winning mentality. Excited by the opportunity, Watson shares, “I’m thrilled to join such an ambitious and quality organization.” His presence promises to enhance the Seawolves’ strategy and inspire both players and fans in the upcoming season.
