WORLD CUP TO THE SEAWOLVES, DIVAN ROSSOUW OF NAMIBIA JOINS THE SEAWOLVES POD
October 7, 2023 (TUKWILA, WA) Divan Rossouw, has been playing for the Namibia National team for over half of his life. Born and raised in the capital city of Windhoek, Namibia, Divan began playing for the Namibia U13 national side in 2009. In 2012, he played for Namibia at the U16 Grant Khomo Week finishing the week as the side’s top scorer. He then represented Namibia’s U18 side in 2014 at the Craven Week tournament.
“To acquire a player of Divan’s proven talent, experience, and versatility is fantastic. He’s an exciting player with tremendous balance to his game. It’s great to welcome him and his wife Lindi to the Seawolves family.” – Allen “Clarkie” Clarke, Seattle Seawolves Head Coach and Director of Rugby.
In 2015, Rossouw moved to South Africa to join the Blue Bulls Academy and was selected for the U19 team, making eleven appearances in U19 and then an additional two with U21. He continued to represent the Blue Bulls squad in the 2016 Currie Cup competition. Later that year Rossouw was named in the Bulls Super Rugby team’s extended training squad.
Rossouw played in 39 Currie Cup matches, and was named a full member of the Bulls Super Rugby team in 2018. Rossouw earned 40 Super Rugby caps and scored four tries.
2020 brought change for many, including Divan. He moved from Pretoria to Johannesburg, to join the Lions.
Divan returned to Namibia in 2022, ahead of the World Cup, to rejoin his national team. He played in seven international test matches prior to playing in three of Namibia’s 2023 World Cup matches in France.
“I am excited for this opportunity and look forward to contributing to the Seawolves on and off the field, so that we can give the fans something to cheer about. Can’t wait to join the Hunt.” – Divan Rossouw
