Seawolves Win 27-5 Over Hounds in Week 6
TUKWILA WA (March 26, 2023) –Seattle Seawolves (5-0) remain undefeated in a hard fought win over the Chicago Hounds (1-4). They dominated the first half with a quick and sizable lead 27-5, until a weather delay for lightning paused the game temporarily. After 30 minutes, the game was called due to severe weather, giving the Seawolves an early victory.
AJ Alatimu led the half in points with two penalty kicks (6), three conversions (6), while three tries were scored by Riekert Hattingh, Tavite Lopeti, and Ina Futi.
MLR laws state that when a match is cancelled due to weather conditions, if the first half is played in its entirety, the winning team earns the win. This is the first time in MLR history that a match has been abandoned mid way.
The Seawolves are headed to New Orleans (3-3) next week Sunday, April 2nd, at 12pm PST. The match will be broadcast on FOX 13+ and streaming on The Rugby Network. Join us at our watch party at Washington Athletic Club to cheer on your undefeated Seawolves! For more info RSVP HERE.
Next home match is a Western Conference showdown vs San Diego Legion (4-1) on April 8th which is also Kid’s Night. For more info and tickets visit our event page HERE.
