
Seawolves Stay Perfect in Close Contest with San Diego
February 20, 2022 (San Diego, CA) – The Seattle Seawolves traveled to Southern California to face a long-time Major League Rugby rival, the San Diego Legion, at their home pitch. Both sides entered Week 3 undefeated, and a match full of back-and-forth scoring saw the visitors pull ahead in the second half and hold strong in a close win, 31-28 Seattle.
• Inside Center and MLR College Draftee Tavite Lopeti scored not one, but two, of his first Major League Rugby tries.
• Captain and Number Eight Riekert Hattingh continued his scoring ways from Week 1 and 2 by scoring a pair of tries against San Diego.
• Seattle earned their first four-try bonus point of the season, rising to 13 points and second overall across both conferences.
• The Seawolves are off to a historic start, with a franchise-best 3-0 record.

The Seattle Seawolves will host the only other undefeated Western Conference team in the Austin Gilgronis at Starfire Stadium Saturday, February 26 at 5:00 PM.
