Seawolves Name Brian Jones President of Business Operations
TUKWILA, WASHINGTON (January 21, 2021) – The Seattle Seawolves Board of Directors are pleased to announce that effective immediately, the team has named Brian Jones President of Business Operations. Jones’ involvement with the team dates back to before the inaugural Seawolves season when he was hired as Chief Commercial Officer, became a shareholder, and was the driving force behind the team’s incredible partnership development efforts. Brian’s extensive leadership experience and success across multiple sports franchises including the NBA, NFL, NHL, and MLS make him the ideal leader to guide the Seattle Franchise and contribute to the continued growth of Major League Rugby (MLR) and thereby, the game of rugby in North America.
“We are thrilled to have Brian accept the role of President of Business Operations for the Seawolves. The Seawolves are the leaders in sponsorship
within MLR as a result of his efforts and his depth of sports experience make him a natural fit to lead our organization as we tackle the next
stage of growth,” said Seawolves board member Chris Prentice. “The Board recognizes how fortunate we are to have someone of Brian’s caliber. A
key factor for us is Brian’s commitment and love for the team and the game of rugby. He is a fan, existing shareholder, and he truly lives the
values and standards of the organization. We continue to be confident in the team we have in place on the pitch and Brian’s leadership will ensure
that we are winning in all aspects of our business.”
“The passion of Seawolves fans combined with the speed, precision and physicality of professional rugby…I was hooked from match number one,” Jones
said. “I am honored to continue to contribute to the Seawolves in this expanded capacity and would like to thank Seawolves ownership for the opportunity,
our fans and partners for their unwavering support, and the staff, coaches, and players for their dedication and collaboration moving forward. It’s
time to hunt!”
Throughout his career, Jones has served in a senior leadership role for numerous professional sports teams and properties including: the Denver Nuggets,
two-time Stanley Cup Champion Colorado Avalanche, Pikes Peak International Raceway, Seattle Seahawks, and Seattle Sounders FC.
Brian holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Tulane University, has served on the Board of Directors of the Seattle Sports Commission, Communities
in Schools of Washington, and was on the Executive Leadership Team for the 2016 Seattle Heart Walk. Brian lives in Lake Forest Park with his wife,
Megan, and daughter, Tatum.
