Seattle Rugby Club Orca Becomes Seawolf, Flores Joins Seawolves Forward Pack
TUKWILA, WASHINGTON (April 24, 2021) – The Seattle Seawolves are excited to announce the signing former Seattle Rugby Club and Guam national team flanker, Jacob Flores.
Flores began playing rugby in 2005 with Guam Rugby Club and started to represent his country at the U19 level in 2006. He left Guam to serve in the U.S.
Army for five years but continued to play rugby whenever he could – including while stationed in Germany. After his service, he returned to Guam and
toured with Guam’s senior national team starting in 2014. With multiple caps under his belt, Flores brought his experience to Seattle in 2018 where
he joined Seattle Rugby Club and quickly earned a starting spot on their men’s premier side competing in the British Columbia Premiership. A hard working
and strong ball carrier, Flores is ready to make the professional jump with the Seawolves in Major League Rugby.
“I’m grateful to be here. Absolutely honored to represent our beautiful city of Seattle and the place where my rugby roots began in the island of Guam,”
said Flores. “I send my love to all my coaches and brothers I’ve shared the pitch with, past and present. Let’s hunt!”
The Seattle Seawolves head to Texas to face the Austin Gilgronis (2-2) in the final away match of their five-match road sprint before playing at home May
2. Kickoff is on Sunday, April 25 at 4:00 PM PT on ROOT SPORTS regionally and The Rugby Network globally.
