Seattle Fall to Los Angeles, Head into BYE Week for Round 9
March 26, 2022 (TUKWILA, WASHINGTON) – The Seattle Seawolves hosted the Los Angeles Giltinis (3-3) at Starfire Stadium in the ‘Clash of Champions’ between the only current MLR-Championship winning Clubs in League history. A lack of momentum and physical opposition stalled out Seattle’s attack in the first half. Despite Seattle scoring twice in the second half, Los Angeles added to their half time lead. 31-12 Los Angeles.
• Prop Sam Matenga and utility back Tai Enosa both made their Seawolves debuts
• Hooker James Malcolm and Wing Lauina Futi both scored their first tries of the season late in the second half
• Wing Martin Iosefo had to depart the match just after half time as his wife went into labor with their first child
• Seattle will face Los Angeles June 5 once more in the final match of the regular season on June 5, likely a critical match with Western Conference playoff implications
