
Phil Mack Joins Seattle Seawolves As Player & Assistant Coach
Seattle, October 2, 2017: Seattle Seawolves Rugby is delighted to announce the arrival of Phil Mack as the player and assistant coach with the team. The
32-year-old, popularly known as the little magician, would be assisting head coach Tony Healy in game preparations, and will also be the team’s key
man on the field. “Phil is a world class talent and we are so happy to have him in our squad. His leadership qualities will be immense for us both
on and off the field”, said Karl Harrison, investor and CEO of Northstar Rugby. “Phil is a powerhouse on the field. Not only will this opportunity give him a chance to again show off his skills as a phenomenal player, he will play a key role on this first-rate coaching staff,” added Adrian Balfour, co-founder of the Seattle Seawolves. The 32-year-old from Victoria, Canada is excited about the new challenge and sounded upbeat. “This provides me an excellent opportunity to develop my coaching skills as well as improve as a player. I am sure Seawolves will be one of the most formidable teams in the league and I am thrilled to be involved with them”, said Phil, at the time of announcement.

Mack, a member of the Toquaht First Nation, earned 52 caps in Rugby 7’s, accumulating 975 points. He also represented Rugby 15’s, earning 43 caps from
2009 to present. He became the first Canadian player to appear in 50 HSBC World Sevens Series tournaments and represented Canada in the Pan Am, winning
back to back gold medals, Commonwealth Games and the World Cup. Mack was named in the World Sevens Series all-star team in 2014 and has coaching experience
with Thunder Rugby since 2013.
