OLIVE “OLLIE” KILIFI RETURNS TO SEATTLE SEAWOLVES
The Seattle Seawolves are ecstatic to announce the return of a beloved figure, Olive Kilifi, to their ranks.
“I’d been speaking to Ollie for a few months about the opportunity to finish his professional career back in Seattle where he is held in such high esteem. Those discussions accelerated once it became clear Mason had sustained an unfortunate season ending injury. Consequently, I’m delighted to welcome Ollie, his wife Loiti, and children Viliami, Talite, Onelani, Lofia, Olive Jr., and Saimore back to the Seawolves pod”. -Clarkie
Olive Kilifi’s rugby career started in West Seattle, leading to significant accomplishments, including being among the first to reach 50 caps in Major League Rugby. He made 31 appearances for the USA Rugby team from 2013 to 2019, captained against Brazil in 2016, and participated in two Rugby World Cups. Kilifi played a key role in the Seattle Seawolves’ championships in 2018 and 2019. Later, his time with the Utah Warriors not only improved his skills but also allowed him to help develop emerging talent as a coach.
“Anyone that knows me knows how much Seattle means to me. It’s where I grew up, it’s my home, and where I learned to play and love this great sport. So, coming back home to play again at Starfire is a great privilege for me and my family.
Playing for the Seattle Seawolves in the past has been a pinnacle in my professional playing career. I had the opportunity to be part of the inaugural 2018 & 2019 championship seasons here, as well as play again in front of one of the best stadiums and fan bases in the MLR. Special thanks to Coach Clarke, the organization, and many others for their help in making this possibility become a reality for me. I’m excited to join the pod again this hunting season. See you all soon. Go Seawolves!”
