My Journey to Becoming Seattle Seawolves Marketing Coordinator
In February 2024, I (Logan Wilson) began a new chapter in my career as the Marketing Coordinator for the Seattle Seawolves. Working as a constituent of SOAR Media, I became the second line of communications for the Seawolves, responsible for leading the charge on social media, design, and content creation throughout the entire 2024 MLR season. From creating graphics, videos, emails, and texts to assisting with public relations, my role has been exhilarating. I’m incredibly grateful to Olivia Malifa, Anton Forbes-Roberts, the SOAR Media team, and the Seattle Seawolves staff for the opportunity to be part of something truly special.
I graduated from Washington State University in May 2023 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts. While I always knew I wanted to pursue something creative, I never imagined marketing would be where I’d find my true passion. As my college years came to a close, I began exploring career paths that would allow me to combine my love for design, video production, and creativity. After months of searching, I came across a position that aligned with my skills and required experience in rugby, a sport I was just beginning to appreciate.
Securing the role and working with the Seattle Seawolves was a pivotal moment in my career. From the start, I was immersed in the fast-paced world of professional sports marketing. I was responsible for creating engaging content for the Seawolves’ social media channels, supporting graphic design needs, and even assisting with public relations efforts. The opportunity to work with a professional rugby team fueled my passion for both marketing and rugby.
Although I wasn’t deeply familiar with rugby initially, my sister, who played for Western Washington University’s rugby team, had introduced me to the sport a few years back. I hadn’t fully connected with it then, but working with the Seattle Seawolves reignited my interest and gave me a new perspective on the game.
The 2024 MLR Season As the 2024 MLR season kicked off, my responsibilities grew. I managed the Seawolves’ social media presence on platforms like Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter (X), and TikTok. Beyond social media, I was involved in marketing meetings, email and text campaigns, and website management. My role evolved into a jack-of-all-trades position where I had the chance to improve my skills daily. One of my proudest moments came when I invested in a DSLR camera to capture higher-quality content, reflecting my growth and commitment to creating impactful media for the team.
This season was filled with unforgettable moments, both on and off the pitch. Visiting Seattle Children’s Hospital with the team was a particularly moving experience, and attending practices and getting to know the players on a personal level was incredibly rewarding. I was also fortunate enough to be a part of some amazing fan experiences, where the energy and excitement of our supporters fueled my drive to keep producing great content.
We finished the season in second place, and we went on to host two home playoff matches thanks to a surprise upset in the playoffs. With just weeks to market and sell out both games, the pressure was intense. But the hard work paid off—both matches were sold out, and the Seawolves went on to win the Western Conference Championship. Celebrating with the team after that final home match was a career highlight for me.
The season concluded with the MLR Championship in San Diego. Although we didn’t win the final, the experience of being there with the team, fans, and the entire Seawolves community was unforgettable. Coach Clarke’s post-game speech left a lasting impression on me, and it fueled my desire to keep honing my skills in design, videography, and management.
Reflecting on my journey with the Seattle Seawolves, I’m filled with gratitude. This year has been a time of incredible personal and professional growth. I’ve come to truly understand the meaning of the Seawolves’ slogan, “Together We Hunt.” Success is never achieved alone—it’s the result of teamwork, dedication, and mutual support.
My first season with the Seawolves has shaped my career in ways I never could have imagined. From learning the ins and outs of rugby to creating high-pressure marketing campaigns, every challenge has pushed me to grow. I’m excited for the future and look forward to continuing to contribute to the Seawolves’ success.

Seawolves Marketing Coordinator
