Former Seattle Saracen and USA Select John Hayden Signs On As Seawolves Prop
Seattle, December 5, 2017: The Seawolves and Head Coach Tony Healy are proud to announce the
signing of John Hayden. Hayden played for Central Washington University from 2015
to 2017. “We are pleased to know that John will help to form our Seawolves front row team,” said Coach Healy. “We will be depending on his skills at
set-piece and his physicality around the field to ensure that we can win the gain-line.”
Hayden’s rugby career began in 2006 at Fallbrook High School in Southern California. His high school career culminated with his selection to the High School
All Americans squad in 2010. Since moving to the Pacific Northwest, Hayden has played with the Seattle Saracens,
building on his playing experience at CWU. “I am extremely thankful for this opportunity, and I am excited to play at a high level of rugby with the
Seattle Seawolves,” said Hayden.
The 6-feet 2-inch, 275 lb prop has capped his rugby career with a selection to the USA Selects Rugby Team, where he played alongside current Seawolves
teammate Aladdin Schirmer.
As a member of the USA Selects Team, Hayden attended the Americas Pacific Challenge tournament earlier this year.
We are proud to welcome John Hayden to the Seawolves family.
