Seattle Seawolves Coach’s Corner with Head Coach Allen Clarke
“Hard to believe, but in just over 3 months pre-season begins for the 2025 season. The ‘off-season’ has been anything but off!! Recruitment is top of the agenda with many moving parts to consider – performance, retirement, the lure of other clubs (home and abroad), and changing family circumstances.
It’s always a challenge to recruit the right blend of player to ensure squad balance and healthy competition. The process is extensive, with three key criteria considered – ‘skillsets’, ‘character’, and ‘ambition’. Simply put, “good people, good at their job on a consistent basis, and driven for personal & team success – people who will leave the jersey in a better place, and will add to the growth of rugby in the Pacific North West.”
There is one thing I can say for sure…. the standard of ‘player’ attracted to the MLR is growing in numbers and quality year on year. It bodes well for the game in the USA, and for our fans….expect to be entertained!!
Watch this space for exciting player announcements in the coming weeks and months.”
— Allen Clarke, Director of Rugby and Head Coach
