Canadian National Team Star Brock Staller Joins Seawolves
Seattle, November 3, 2017: The Seattle Seawolves and Head Coach Tony Healy are proud to announce the signing of 25 year old Canadian Rugby star Brock Staller. “I am excited to compete with quality players in a high-performance
environment. I look forward to engaging with the Seattle community to help grow the game and raise the profile of rugby in North America,” said the
Canadian star. Brock knows there’s a big opportunity in front of him. Head Coach Tony Healy is also thrilled about Brock’s arrival. “Signing a player
like Brock is just one more sign that the Seawolves management is fully supporting our vision of the game. His versatility across the backline, his
hard-running style and his big kicking foot will make him a danger on the pitch. Brock could be a big contributor to the team’s success,” he said at
the time of announcement.
Hailing from Vancouver, Canada, Brock went to Kitsilano High school, and played amateur rugby at Meraloma’s Rugby Club. He represented Vancouver in regional
play, British Columbia in provincial play and currently represents Canada on the world stage. He is a graduate of the UBC men’s varsity rugby program.
For two years in a row Brock was the leading points scorer in the British Columbia Rugby Union Men’s premiership. The 25-year-old was named in the
starting lineup to play for Canada alongside fellow Seawolves stars Phil Mack and Ray Barkwill against the Maori All Blacks at BC Place tonight.
At 6’2” and 210lbs, Brock brings a powerful running style of play, combined with a strong boot he is capable of landing penalties from 60 yards. He will
pose an attacking threat every time he gets the ball. We are excited to see the skill and professionalism he exhibits on and off the pitch.
We are proud to welcome Brock Staller to the Seawolves family.
