Seattle Saracen, USA Eagle Peter Tiberio Signs with Seattle Seawolves
Named RugbyMag’s 2012 College 7’s Player of the Year
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 14, 2018
SEATTLE- The Seattle Seawolves have announced the signing of Seattle Saracen and U.S. National 7’s team center, Peter Tiberio
“Peter’s experience with the USA 7s squad will complement the Seawolves style of play nicely,” said Coach Healy. “His speed and agility will be put to
the test on our back line.”
Peter Tiberio was born in Aurora, IL on April 26, 1989. He first began playing rugby at the University of Arizona during his freshman year of college.
He immediately picked up on the sport and excelled in the center #12/13 positions. In 2011 during the Collegiate Rugby Championship, Tiberio led the
tournament in tries scored and was named to the all-tournament team. He soon rose to 7’s stardom, earning a bronze medal with Team USA at the 2011
Pan American games and winning recognition as the College 7’s 2012 player of the year. He has since gone on to play 13 times at the 7’s level internationally,
and once in Rugby XV’s. Most recently, Tiberio has found play time with the Seattle Saracens and played this past summer with the Washington Athletic
Club 7s at USA Rugby’s Club 7s National Championship.
“I am looking forward to the opportunity to be on the forefront on professional rugby in the US,” says Tiberio “I am proud to be a part of the first group
of MLR players while being able to test myself at the top level of rugby in the country.”
