Clarke Elevated to Director of Rugby and Head Coach, Tuilevuka Named General Manager of the Seattle Seawolves
TUKWILA, WASHINGTON (May 27, 2021) – The Seattle Seawolves are excited to announce the acquisition of Allen Clarke from the Dallas Jackals, who will become director of rugby and head coach on a multi-year agreement effective immediately. Pate Tuilevuka has been named general manager of the club and will collaborate with coach Clarke on all thing’s rugby, while focusing on domestic growth of the franchise and rugby in the Pacific Northwest.
“I’m delighted and honored to be appointed director of rugby and head coach of the Seattle Seawolves,” said Clarke. “It was clear from the very first time I spoke to owners Chris and Adrian that they have a definitive vision and strategy for the Seawolves to become a force in Major League Rugby again. The care and ambition for the growth of rugby in Seattle and the greater Washington area, coupled with the welcome I have received from players, management, and supporters alike has made the decision an easy one.
I thank Dallas Jackals for their understanding, in particular Scott Sonju and Elaine Vassie, who have been brilliant to work with over the last 12 months. And finally, I would like to thank my wife, Kerry, and our children, Ariane, and Alexander, for their continued support. I look forward to them coming over to experience the same welcome I’ve received in what is a stunning part of the world.”
“The Seawolves are thrilled to elevate Clarkie to Director of Rugby and Head Coach, thus adding tremendous rugby knowledge, strategy, and experience to our organization moving forward” said Seawolves president Brian Jones. “Clarkie and Pate are outstanding people, as well as leaders, and the Seawolves and our fans will greatly benefit from their on and off pitch collaboration.”
The Seattle Seawolves (2-7) have a BYE in week 11 and look forward to regrouping before returning to Starfire Stadium in week 12 of Major League Rugby to face the Utah Warriors.
