Seawolves Continue Chase for Playoff Spot After Loss in Austin
May 1, 2022 (TUKWILA, WASHINGTON) – The Seattle Seawolves traveled to the Austin Gilgronis (9-2) for a 4:00 PM PT match in Austin, Texas. Tactical play set Seattle up for scoring opportunities throughout the match but Austin was able to stall the Seawolves offense and keeping the visitors to only two converted penalty kicks. 6-17, Austin.
• Flyhalf AJ Alatimu accounted for the only points of the match, making two of his three attempted penalties kicks
• Lack of momentum and chances for Seattle to play their brand of rugby kept the scoreline tight
• Seawolves drop down into the fourth spot of the Western Conference, needing to bounce back with a four-point next win next week at home against Dallas to keep playoff hopes alive
PENALTIES:
Flyhalf AJ Alatimu (15’, 30’) 2/3
The Seattle Seawolves will return to Starfire Stadium on Sunday, May 8 to face the Dallas Jackals at 7:00 PM PT on Mother’s Day. There will be a youth camp pre-match in Seawolves’ Run with the Pack, presented by Westfield Southcenter, and 1st-8th grade boys and girls are encouraged to sign up here.
